And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek.
Shrek presents a treasure trove of creative opportunities, including costumes, sets, puppets (there is a fire-breathing dragon after all) and more! Irreverently fun for the whole family, Shrek proves that beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre.
Seeking performers ages 5-18*
*Performers older than 18 are welcome to apply for this program as well if desired!
WHO
We're looking for performers of ages 5-18+ to help bring this production to life! All roles are open to performers of all backgrounds and identities. We aim to cultivate a diverse and inclusive community both onstage and off.

All rehearsals and performances will be held at JCC Metrowest: 760 Northfield Ave, West Orange, NJ.

Participation Fee
There will be a participation of $750
Includes: 60+ hours of instruction, professional production photos, and a chance to be a part of a fully staged, fully designed musical.
We will never turn a performer away due to financial need. If cost is a prohibitive factor for you, please let us know this on your form and we will work with you to discuss scholarship and payment plan options available as needed.
